For this GQ Taiwan x DEFENDER partnership, the ask was to create an advertorial concept that connected a respected local creative with DEFENDER’s brand purpose, helping build awareness in a market where the brand is still emerging. We worked with Ayal Komod, an award-winning Taiwanese musician and genuine DEFENDER owner, whose modern yet freestyle approach to music aligned naturally with the brand’s heroic, charismatic spirit.

Inspired by the shape of DEFENDER’s iconic rear lights and the Pangea Green colourway, we developed a bold, graphic visual language that illuminated both Ayal and the vehicle. Using reportage-style photography paired with high-fashion styling, the work focused on natural, intimate moments that felt unposed and authentic. The video assets were treated as moving posters, transitioning from darkness into light to hero Ayal and DEFENDER, and designed to live across GQ Taiwan’s print, digital and social platforms, as well as DEFENDER and Ayal’s own channels.
